The former Lloyd Memorial Congregational Church closed on 18/6/1978, and the property has been sold (1985?). The church became part of the Uniting Church in 1977, and after closing the congregation amalgamated with the Wallaroo Uniting Church (see separate entry - 5556). The original church building on this site was opened on 30/12/1866 as the Welsh Presbyterian Chapel. Shortly after opening it affiliated with the Congregational Church, and the original church building was enlarged in 1908. It re-opened 5/2/1908 as the Lloyd Memorial (Welsh) Congregational Church. It held its final service on 18/6/1978 and has since been demolished. Only the Sunday School now remains. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 11/3/2025.
