The former Truro Uniting Church has closed, and the property has been sold (2017?). The church had been part of the Uniting Church Synod of South Australia. The former church building was opened on 25/10/1860 by the Rev T Q Stow,  for the Congregational Church, which became part of the Uniting Church in 1977. The porch was added in 1876 and the large stone portion at the back in 1879.  The name of the area (Truro) and the early formation of a Congregational congregation about 1850, reflects the Cornish origin of the district pioneerrs, attracted to the nearby mine at Wheat Barton, which opened in 1848 and closed about 1852. The early services 1854-1860 where held in a Union church building, which appears to have closed when the mine closed. More historical information/photographs of the former church, congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 26/3/2025.
