The St John's Anglican Church, Terowie has closed, and the property has been sold. The church building was acquired by the Anglican church in 1890, and after renovations was opened as St John's on 2/3/1890 by the Rev R S Hopcraft. The porch was added later. The church building had originally been opened for the Primitive Methodists on 27/3/1881. However, was closed on 14/10/1883, due to their inability to pay the minister. It was then acquired/used by the Salvation Army until it was sold to the Anglican in 1890. Earlier Anglican services were held in private homes and the Institute. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church(es)/congregation(s) are invited. Photographs uploaded 12/5/2018.
