The former St John's Lutheran Church, Taplan is closed, and the property is now privately owned (sold about 2020). The first Lutheran service in the district was held on 24/7/1918, with early services conducted in private homes. The first church building was opened on 14/10/1923, with most of the building labour being voluntary. The 25th anniversary was held in 1948, with a porch added to the building to mark the anniversary. A window was installed in 1950 to commemorate Pastor Myer, who laid the foundation stone. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 21/12/2020 & 24/12/2022.
