The St Andrew's Anglican Church, Evandale functions in conjunction with Holy Trinity Church, Launceston and is part of the Parish of Launceston and the Diocese of Tasmania. The first church building was opened on 19/2/1837, by the Governor Sir John Franklin, and was also used as a school. It soon became to small and a new brick building was opened in 1844, but due to poor quality construction had to be replaced earlier than anticipated. It was replaced by the current building which was consecrated on 17/5/1872, by His Lordship the Bishop of Tasmania. A cemetery adjoins the church. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 03/09/2016.
Fire destroyed the church hall on 17/6/2023.
