The Pilgrim Uniting Church, Launceston has closed and the property is listed for sale (12/2024). The church had been part of the Presbytery of Tasmania and the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. The Pilgrim Uniting Church was formed through the amalgamation of the Paterson Street Uniting Church, Christ Church Congregational Church and the Chalmers Presbyterian Church in July 1982, at the current site. The present church building was opened on 21/2/1868, built after the congregation had outgrown the Wesleyan Chapel next door, now the church hall. The original Wesleyan Chapel had been opened in 1835. More historical information/photographs of the former church(es)/congregation(s0 are invited. Photographs uploaded 08/09/2016.
