St Augustine's Catholic Church - Former

The former St Augustine's Catholic Church, Pyengana closed about 1995, and the property was sold. The church building had been the Lottah Catholic Church, which was purchased in 1922, and relocated to Pyengana, when the Lottah mining industry was in serious decline. The establishment of the Catholic Church in Pyengana was the culmination of over twenty years of effort by Mrs Peter Hayley. The land for the building was donated by the Hayley family and the church was dedicated to St Augustine in 1923. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
