The former Hagley Uniting Church held its final service on  31/1//2016. The earliest Wesleyan Methodist services began about 1840, being held in a private home in Hoggs Lane. The first church building, a wooden structure, was erected on land donated by Mr George Scott, and opened on 27/3/1859 by the Rev J A Manton. Land for a cemetery, near the church was acquired in 1864. The building was also used by the local Presbyterian congregation in the 1870s, while their building was being erected. The original wooden building is now located beside the brick structure. The new church building was opened on 14/12/1957 by the Rev Dr A H Wood, President-General of the Uniting Church in Australia. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 12/6/2023.
