The former Forth Methodist Church closed many years ago, and the property was sold. The first Wesleyan/Methodist service in the district is recorded as being held at the home of James Brown, at Forth Beach, in 1856. The first church building was erected in 1867 at Forth Beach, with the Forth church building being opened by the Rev Robert Philip, in February 1875. Before the erection of the Forth church building, services were held in private homes and commercial premises. The church celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1925, which due to the size of the congregation (estimated at 350) was held in the open air. This was possibily the high point of the Forth Methodist Church, whose congregation shrunk in line with the town population, and eventually closed. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 25/7/2023.
