The former St Mary's Anglican Church, Gretna is now closed, and the property listed for sale. It was part of the New Norfolk Parish and the Diocese of Tasmania. The church building was opened and consercrated, along with the cemetery, on 1/6/1848 by Bishop Nixon. The land for the church building and the cemetery was donated by Edward Terry, owner of the Askrigg estate. It is understood services were conducted there prior to the erection of the church building. The pioneer cemetery adjoins the church. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 23/8/2023.
