The St Paul's Anglican Church, Bakery Hill is in the Parish of St Paul's Ballarat and the Diocese of Ballarat. The church was founded in 1854 at the height of the Ballarat Gold Rush. The first services were held in a tent on what is today the car park. St Paul's first church was opened on 4/3/1855.
It was decided in 1857 to build a church for 450. By 1862 it was decided to rebuild to hold 800.
