The former Christ Church Anglican Church, Bonnie Doon was part of the Parish of Mansfield and the Diocese of Wangaratta. The church has now closed, and the property is listed for sale (2022).The first recorded Anglican service in Bonnie Doon was held on 1/1/1889, although as the district had been settled earlier, services were probably held before this. The service was conducted by the Rev J M Watson. Shortly after this plans were made to construct a place of worhsip. In April 1899 foundation blocks for a church were laid in a ceremony conducted by the Rev J F Frewin. The church building was dedicated as Christ Church by the Venerable Archdeacon Langley on 18/10/1899. The church was opened debt free. The church is one of three historic places of worship which are located side-by-side - Anglican/Uniting(Presbyterian)/Catholic and all date back to the pioneer days of the district.
