The former St Andrew's Presbyterian Church property is now privately owned. The present building replaced an earlier wooden structure (later to become the Sunday School Hall) which had been erected on land on the south side of Main Street, donated by Sir William J Clarke. The brick building was completed in July 1886, but was not able to be opened until 3/10/1886. In 1967 a new complex was added to the front of the building including a foyer, meeting room and minister's office. It was opened on 24/12/1967.
In 1957 the old halls were re-sited, and the Foundation Stone for a new hall laid on 3/8/1958, which was officially opened on 3/5/1959. The original manse was built on a site in Riverine Street in 1878 and replaced with a new brick manse in 1937.
More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 2/2/2019.
