Comments
The former Salvation Army Citadel, Newtown was opened in 1889, closed in the early 1980s, and the property was then sold. The building was one of the first purpose built structures by the Salvation Army in the district. It was used by the Salvation Army in Chilwell until it closed in the early 1980s, when it combined with the Salvation Army Corps - Geelong West, and was renamed South Barwon Corps, at its new site at 180 Francis Street, Belmont, 3216. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 22//2/2020.
