The former Cooma Evangelical Memorial Uniting Church, held its final service on 10/4/2022. The property was sold in 2023. The church began about 1874, the first meetings being held in private homes, until the first church building, a log and mud structure was erected. This was replaced by a weatherboard building until the present brick building was built.  The present church building was erected in 1926, as a memorial to commemorate those who served in World War I. At the opening ceremony Pastor Gault also unveiled an honour roll in memory of Private Poole and Lance-Corporal Robinson, and six pioneer memorial windows were also dedicated1. A church hall is located next to the church. By 2022 the church had been serving the community for 148 years, 96 of which were in the present church building. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 5/11/2024.
