This former St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Clunes was part of the Parish of Creswick and the Diocese of Ballarat. The church closed on 27/5/2018, and the property has been sold. An original chapel built in Clunes was replaced by a timber church, erected on the present church site in 1862. It was later relocated to the rear of the site to allow the present bluestone building to be erected. Building commenced in 1872 and was officially opened on 7/6/1873 by the Rev Dr Fitzpatrick. The planned tower was never constructed nor the the chancel completed. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/11/2017 & 27/12/2021.
