The Castlemaine District Uniting Church, includes the Uniting Church congregations of Castlemaine and Harcourt and the faith community of Sipwell. It is also part of the Presbytery of Loddon Mallee and the Uniting Churh Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. The present Castlemaine church building, (former Presbyterian church) was opened on 16/12/1894 by the Moderator, the Right Rev J L Rentoul. It became part of the Uniting Church in 1977.
