The current St John's Anglican Church, Dunolly was opened and dedicated on 17/12/1869 by Archdeacon Crawford.
Prior to the building of this church, services were held in the Church of England School, which foundation stone had been laid by Bishop Perry of Melbourne on 23/3/1857. This school/church building was the first Anglican Church in Dunolly, and was opened in May 1858. It is now the St John's Hall. No other details are known.
