An historical plaque records: St Patrick's Catholic Church - The first small wooden church was built in 1875 on land granted in 1854. This building was opened by Father Fennelly on 7th April 1875 and was later relocated to Glenthompson.

A new brick church was built by Hec Patterson to a design by Frank Hammond at a cost of 800 [pounds] and officially opened on 21st December 1913 by the Bishop of Ballarat Most Rev J Higgins DD.

The front porch was added in 1954 at a cost of 1,908 [pounds]. A meeting room at the rear of the church was added in 1989. Extensive building repairs and landscaping were completed in 2016.
