The Salvation Army - Eaglehawk Corps began about 1885, having grown out of the ministry started in Bendigo in 1883, among the many who had flocked to the area during the gold rush. The building was opened on 18/6/1896, with the formal handing over of the property to the Salvation Army. With the decline in mining and a lack of Corps officers, the work closed for a period between 1924-1929. Over the years many officers from this Corps have gone on to many other significant positions within the Salvation Army ministry. The building has also been modified and altered over the years, to meet the needs of the Corps. More historical information/photographs of the corps/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 23/3/2022 & 13/2/2023.
