The Eaglehawk Uniting Church commenced in 1852, with the first church service in the area conducted at the top of Eaglehawk Gully, lead by the Hunt brothers and Edward Hooker. Meetings were initially held in a tent, followed by slab and then a weatherboard structure, before the present church building was erected in 1863. No other details are known.
