The opening and consecration of the church was held on 10/10/1869, and celebrated at a Mass by Bishop James Alipius Goold, Melbourne's first Bishop. To mark the church's 150th anniversary, a commemoration Mass was celebrated by the Archbishop of Melbourne, Peter A Comensoli on 6/10/2019. No other details are known.
