A plaque at rear on a Cairn for the Easter Fire records in part "Through a Bequest of Fr R Dunworth PP work on building a second church...commenced in 1987, the 125th year of the parish. St Mary's Church Hamilton was consecrated by Most Rev Ronald A Mulkearns DD. DCL Bishop of Ballarat on Sunday November 20th 1988. The Feast of Christ The King.
