St James Catholic Church

The St James Catholic Church, Knowsley is part of the Heathcote Parish and the Diocese of Sandhurst. The present church building was constructed about 1931, after the previous one was destroyed during a storm on 25/12/1929. The earlier church building had been erected about 1892, on land donated by J D Bywater. While the congregation were without a church building, Mass is believed to have been celebrated in John O'Sullivan's woolshed, at Erindale.
