The original St John's Anglican Church, (17 Fitzroy Street address) was opened on 2/2/1875 by Archdeacons T C B Stretch and Allnut. Before the church building was erected services were held in private homes and halls in the district. An additional section was added to the original building in 1992, and was consecrated on 26/9/1992. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
