The Christ Church Anglican Church, Gunbower is part of the Parish of Cohuna and the Diocese of Bendigo. The first records of the Gunbower Anglican Church began in 1894. From 1894 to 1911 services were conducted in the State School by a visiting minister. Land for a church building was purchased in 1904, with the church building erected during 1910/11. The church was opened by the Rev Rex Long from Cohuna in 1911. The opening was also attended by the wife of the Victorian Governor, Her Excellency the Countess of Dudley, who presented the church with a lectern of carved oak. The church celebrated its jubilee in 1961. The present Hall was formerly the Gunbower Creek Baptist Church building, the church having closed. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 15/2/2023.
