The former Maldon Uniting Church held its final service on 8/12/2013, and the property was sold (2014) by the Uniting Church, to help pay debts related to Acacia College, Melbourne (weeklytimesnow.com.au 22/04/2014). The church had been part of the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. A small brick building beside the former church building was erected in 1855, and was used as the Church in the early days of the Wesleyan Methodist congregation in Maldon. The Wesleyan Methodist congregation had held its first services at the site in 1853, and accordingly celebrated their 160 year anniversay in 2013. The present church building was opened on 18/10/1863 by the officiating ministers, the Rev A R Fitchett and the Rev W Hill. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregatyion are invited. Photographs uploaded 26/06/2016.
