The former St David's Anglican Church has closed, and the property was sold in 2017. The present church building was opened on 10/9/1919, as a memorial church, by Bishop Langley. It replaced the first church building, a wooden structure, opened on 1/8/1886. The church celebrated its jubilee on 6/8/1936. Anglican services had been held in the district from about 1880, but spasmodically, until the arrival of the Rev David Hewton in 1885, as reader-in-charge of Mitiamo. Before the erection of the first church building, any service conducted was held in the local Bible Christian Church or private home. As a memorial church it contained a notable stained glass window, unveiled by the Rev Hewton, in memoray of the men of the neighbourhood who died on active service in the Great War. More historical infromation/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 29/11/2016.
