This former St Patrick's Catholic Church, Mount Moriac is now closed, and the property has been sold (2017). The church had been part of the Diocese of Melbourne.
A number of church buildings have been erected on this site over the years. The first foundation stone was laid on 31/10/1858 and the church opened in 1863 by Archbishop Carr. Another church was built in 1883 but this was significantly damaged by a cyclone in 1926. Using the original foundations, and furnishings the church was rebuilt about 1953 and opened and blessed by the Most Rev Justin Simonds, Archbishop of Melbourne.
