The former Scots Presbyterian Church, Mardan, now known as the Scots Pioneer Church. The present church building was opened on Easter Sunday, 16/4/1911, replacing an earlier wooden structure opened on the same site in 1890. The 1911 building was also used, on a regular basis, until about 1924 by the Anglican Church for services. The church closed in 1993, and the property was then sold. After renovations it was re-opened for community use, including ecumenical services. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 26/10/2017.
An email update on 22/1/2021 by Lionel Boxer advised as folllows: 'Margaret (nee McIndoe) Castle purchased this church and renovated it. She has left it in a trust that fully funds the church. The church was built on James George McKinnon's (Margaret's great uncle and my great great uncle) farm and donated to the Presbyterian Church. In 2010 this church was re-opened. Regular services are not held, but monthly services and talks are conducted on the last Sunday of each month."
