A heritage plaque records: Anglican Church - The first Anglican (Church of England) services were held in the Railway Station waiting room and at the primary school. - Local builder, WN Griffith & Son, built St Andrew's Church of England in 1929 with Archdeacon Morgan Payler dedicating the church on 30th November. Possibly 'attending' clergy provided service until 1936 when Rev Frederick Morton became the first known clergy. In the early days single clergy lived in rooms adjoining the church - On 8th September 1940, local people gathered in the Church of England for Commonwealth 'National Prayer' to mark the end of the second year of the World War II. - Declared a Parish in 1961, Manangatang is now part of the Parish of Robinvale-Manangatang. The former St Andrew's Anglican Church is now closed, and the property was sold on 2/3/2018. It was in the Diocese of Bendigo. 'My grandfather William Henry Griffin and son Phillip Aylin Griffin built St Andrew's Church of England in 1929, and it was dedicated on 30th November 1929.' No other details are known.
