The current Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mildura building held its first Mass on 18/12/1921, celebrated by Bishop Foley. When extensions were completed in 1969, the church was renamed the Sacred Heart Peace Memorial Church
The first public Mass held in Mildura was celebrated by Fr Timothy O'Connell on 20/8/1892. After this regular services were held in the Anglican Church building, then a lean to shanty near the river. The first Mildura Catholic Church building was a timber structure, opened in 1896. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 17/2/2020.
