The former Morpeth Primitive Methodist Church, has been closed for many years. It is not clear when the church began, but it was very active about 1860, under the leadership of the Rev Charles Causland. A brick building was erected about 1862, for the National School, and was also used by the church. The area used by the Primitive Methodist Church, had the seats fixed to the floor, so that the area could not be used for dancing. In 1902 the Primitive Methodists joined with the Wesleyan Methodists, after which the church eventually closed. The final minister was the Rev T Rudd. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 24/12/2021.
