South Melbourne Congregational Church - Former

This former South Melbourne Congregational Church building is now privately owned. The former congregation began about 1859, with services held in the great iron store and then in the Mechanics Institute. A wooden schurch building was erected in 1865 and replaced in 1868 by further building on the north side, which later became th church hall. With a growing congregation the present church building was erected in 1874. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited.
