The former St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Yarrawonga building is now the St Andrew's/Yarrawonga Uniting Church building (see separate entry - 3730).
The present Yarrawonga Presbyterian Church is part of the Presbytery of North East Victoria and the Presbyterian Church of Victoria. It was erected for the continuing Presbyterian congregation after the formation of the Uniting Church in 1977. The church functions as part of the Wangaratta Presbyterian Regional Parish, consisting of the Wangaratta, Yarrawonga and Myrtleford Presbyterian Churches.
The Rev J D Robertson first established the Presbyterian Church in Yarrawonga in 1879, with early services being held in the Congregational Church building. The first church building was a wooden structure erected in 1881, and replaced by a brick building in 1885, to be replaced by a larger building in 1929. The original Yarrawonga Parish consisted ot three other churches at Bundalong (see separate entry -Bundalong Uniting Church - 3730), Telford and Burramine. The Burramine and Telford churches closed in the late 1940s, with their congregations combining with Yarrawonga. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
