The former Yarrawonga Congregational Church closed after 1962, when the congregation combined with the Yarrawonga Methodist Church for services. The property was sold in 1968. The church began in 1877 when the local population sought ministers from various denominations to care for the spiritual wellbeing of the community. The Congregational Union was early to respond, with the Rev F J Pitman commencing services in the district in 1877. He conducted services in private homes in the Burramine, Bundalong and South Yarrawonga areas. Services were also held in the Apollo Hall in Witt Street, Yarrawonga. A Congregational church building was erected in Yarrawonga in 1880/81. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 5/11/2023.
