St Joseph's Catholic Church

The St Joseph's Catholic Church, Tarrayoukyan is part of the Parish of Western Border and the Diocese of Ballarat. The town of Tarrayoukyan no longer exists, with only two sites remaining, the St Joseph's church and the cemetery. The present wooden church structure was erected in 1912, on the stone footings of an earlier 1874 brick church building. The first Mass in the 1874 building, was celebrated by Fr Patrick Cavanagh on 7/2/1875^1. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
