A plaque records: Former - Talbot Presbyterian - Church 1865 - The congregation received a 50 [pound] grant from the Amherst Borough Council after an earlier 1862 iron church (on another site) was removed during fire fighting. The church opened in May 1865. Of simple design, the church building draws freely on the Gothic style. It is part of the important cluster of 19th century buildings that frame the Talbot Heritage Precinct.
