From the 1860s services were conducted in the Court House - and the hall at the rear of Underwood's Hotel - In 1879 it was decided to build a red brick church 30 X 18 feet with iron roof and asphalt floor at a - cost not to exceed 300 {pounds}. A slate damp course, gothic arch, and windows designed by the famous - Ferguson and Urie were features of the construction. - On 24 August 1879 Archdeacon Tucker officially opened the church with the parish minister - Reverend F L Wilson - The Parish Hall was constructed in 1904 and the Rectory in 1910. - Violet Town History Group 2016.
