St Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Former

The former St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Woodvale (Campbells Forest) held its final Mass on 1/2/1971. The property was then sold in 1978. A Crown allotment for the church was set aside on 18/7/1873. The first confirmation in the church was held in 1925. In 1935 the original church building was replaced by the present structure. The congregation declined from the 1950s, although the population of the district was never large, and closed in 1971¹. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
