The White Hills Uniting Church is a worship centre of the Weeroona Uniting Church (see separate entry - 3550). White Hills combined with the Neale Street, Kennington and 205 Arnold Street, North Bendigo congregations in 2014 to form the Weeroona Uniting Church. White Hills is one of the oldest churches in Bendigo. It held its first service as a Wesleyan Methodist Church on 6/2/1853. The first church building was erected in Plumridge Street, near Bendigo Creek. This structure which comprised bags stretched over a wooden frame, was soon washed away in a flood, but only took a couple of months for another, more elaborate building to be erected near where the Botantical Gardens are today. A wooden church building was the next to be erected on the present site. It was replaced in the 1860s by the present brick church. The centenary of the church was held on 5/4/1953.
