The former Fremantle Hebrew Congregation Synagogue was built and opened in 1902. The first service was held on 31/8/1902, however, services were discontinued by 1908 as many of the Jewish population had moved to Perth and joined the Perth Hebrew Congregation. The building was sold in 1916.
It was afterwards used for a number of purposes, including retail shops being constructed around it by Mr Beer. The Star of David is still visible from the street. The rear of the synagogue which is behind the Beers Buildings is shown in photograph two. More historical information/photographs of the synagogue/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 29/12/2018.
