St James' Anglican Church of Moora. The foundation stone was laid in memory of Walter Padbury Snr on 4th March 1911. He was a well-known pioneer who landed in the state in 1829 and passed away in 1907. The church building was consecrated on 15/11/1911 by the Bishop of Perth, Rev'd Riley. Walter Padbury Sen. was an avid benefactor of the Anglican Church and his generous donations and support assisted the establishment of the Diocese of Bunbury. The Padbury family is particularly remembered in the Guildford and Bassendean areas. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/10/2018.
