Yvonne Solly provided the following on 9/3/2021.
Recollections of Pingrup, by Keith Harold Solly and Amy Josephine Solly/1984, published by the Lions Club of Pingrup. Amy who was part of the local community in the 1950s wrote, 'As there was no church of any domination in Pingrup, the various ministers used to come from Katanning and Lake Grace and hold their services in the Pingrup Hall. After the community had raised enough funds to build the hall, they decided to work towards a community church to serve everyone. Each and every family contributed in some way, with gifts of sheep, wool, wheat, and lots of fund raising activities. Eventually enough money was in hand to go ahead with the building and the present delightful little community church was opened in the early sixties. I remember Jim and Moya Coutts wedding was the first held there. A commemoration service used to be held every year in November on the anniversary of the opening."
