A roadside information board records: Catholic Church - Catholic services first commenced in Yalgoo in the mid 1890's. The original church on this site, The Holy Xaviour was built of corrugated iron and timber in Gothic style and opened in 1909. A priest's home was built directly behind. All these buildings were demolished in a storm in 1984 and its building materials recycled by Carlaminda Station.. The current church, St Finbarr's was transported from Mullewa to the same site in 1987. |

The St Finbarr Catholic Church, Yalgoo is part of the Parish of Mullewa and the Diocese of Geraldton. Mass is now no longer celebrated at this location. The celebration of Mass in Yalgoo began in the mid 1890s. The first church building was opened on this site in 1909, but was unfortunately destroyed in a storm in 1984. The present church building was relocated from Mullewa in 1987. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
