The earliest Anglican Church in the district was the wooden Church of the Transfiguration in Harvey Street, dedicated on 1 August 1896.
In 1922 land was purchased in Leonard Street and the timber Church was moved from Harvey Street to Leonard Street. It served as the Church until the present St Peter's was built. St Peter's Anglican Church was consecrated on the June 23rd 1935, by the Archbishop of Perth, Dr Le Farm. St Peters celebrated 80 years of worship in 2015.
