Mr J H Monger and his wife (Joaquina) actually caused the church to be built. The red brick building is the original Wesley Methodist Church building erected in 1852 and used until the 'new' one was completed in 1888. The 'new' church building was opened on 22/8/1888 by the Rev Thomas Bird, assisted by the Rev William Lowe. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 20/03/2015.
